Discover a different view of the city from its top with these 8 rooftop bars. Barcelona must be seen from above!

Discover a different way of enjoying the city of Gaudí

Overly touristy as some may find it, Barcelona is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. In part, we can thank its miraculous combination of colors for that, from the endless blue hues of the Mediterranean to the mosaics of Gaudí and Catalan Modernism. There’s a je-ne-sais-quoi to the combination of the old buildings from the Middle Ages, the colors of the early 20th century and the newer glass darlings that cement Barcelona as an entirely current metropolis. For all this and more, the gem of Catalunya deserves to be seen from above.

Hotels from all over Barcelona have learned to seize the beauty of the city by building breathtaking terrace bars overlooking town. Let’s get into the most breathtaking rooftops in Barcelona!

8. El Sueño de Picasso, The Serras Hotel

Facing the bright blue sea and Barcelona’s port at the iconic Passeig de Colom, El Sueño is just as dreamy as its name would have you believe. Atop a fancy boutique hotel called @theserrasbarcelona, expect an evening of luxury with an entrancing ambiance. During the weekends, some of the best DJs in Barcelona make their mark in this lovely rooftop. The surroundings are positively breathtaking, and the food is some of the best on this list, with carefully crafted cocktails to boot.

Where to find it:

  • Passeig de Colom, 9

  • Mondays - Closed
  • Tuesday to Sunday: 4:30pm - 12:00am

7. Terraza 360º, Barceló Raval Hotel

Standing on an 11th floor of the iconic and diverse Raval downtown neighborhood, Terraza 360º offers one of the widest views throughout Barcelona. Where to find it:

6. Pulitzer Terrace, Pulitzer Hotel

Many rooftop bars were created to simply chill under the sun or stars, but not the @hotelpulitzerbarcelona Terrace. Overlooking Plaça Catalunya and a stone’s throw away from the Ramblas, the green Pulitzer Terrace has party on its mind. A summer experience like many of the rooftops in the city, it hosts live music and DJ sessions throughout the week (with different genres depending on the day) to cover all musical tastes in one single venue.

The menu here is built for partying, with a large selection of cocktails and fun and unpretentious food offerings, with classic tapas and bar bites served in the Pulitzer’s unique own style. In all, a great place for a fun evening of music, drinks and dancing!

The @h10montcadaboutique rooftop isn’t huge, as can be the case with boutique hotel spaces, but there’s a real effort behind creating a cozy and luxurious home quality in it. The beach-like furniture, including comfy lounge chairs and sun beds, seem to complement the look of the broad city behind for a gorgeous setting. As the bar’s name would suggest, the best time to visit is around sunset, when the colors of the sky mix with those of the city for an incredible sight.
